Moonsquare Films is a Jerusalem-based independent production company creating fiction, documentary and hybrid moving-image work. We develop films from the story outward — allowing each project to find the production scale, visual language and tools that serve it best.

Our approach is rooted in editing: constant revision, attention to rhythm and structure, and a preference for compact productions where every element earns its place. The work moves freely between traditional filmmaking and emerging creative methods, including AI-assisted image making, without treating the technology as the idea itself.

Films produced and edited through Moonsquare have screened at festivals including Docaviv, the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival and SF3 in Sydney, and have received recognition from the Israeli Academy and the Documentary Forum of Israel. Based near Jerusalem, Moonsquare works across Israel and welcomes international creative and production partnerships.

A filmmaker shaped by migration and Jerusalem.

Benny Shklovsky immigrated from Russia to Israel with his family in 1991 and grew up in Jerusalem. A childhood shaped by migration, a single-parent household and the city's overlapping cultures continues to inform his interest in people caught between places, identities and changing realities.

He holds a BFA from the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University, where his science-fiction short Reeds was supported by and screened at UtopiaFest Tel Aviv. After years working as an editor and post-production supervisor — alongside assorted on-set work, including a stint as a stuntman — he moved his focus toward independent fiction and documentary filmmaking and founded Moonsquare Films.
